On top of that, it's under $20 and comes with 18-month warranty from MPow (a company that has been around in business for awhile now). It's very comfortable to hold, very lightweight at only 145g, has a smooth telescopic mechanism, very secure u-shape clamp grip, and convenience of remote bluetooth button to take selfie pictures or videos. Honestly, I was very impressed with a build quality, durability, and ease of operation when using MPow iSnap X selfie bluetooth stick. Afterwards, whenever you fire up your camera - just press a button to take a picture or start/stop the video. Pair up was a breeze, MPow iSnap X was recognized right away and quickly paired up with a phone. At the top of the handle, right where your thumb is, you have a multi-function button which turns the power on (by holding it down), enters in pair up mode, and also remotely triggers your phone camera. At the bottom of the handle you have micro-usb connector for charging it, including LED, and also an adjustable wrist strap - excellent idea for extra security. Handle itself has a nice rubbery coating, easy to grip and feels secure in your hand. Keep in mind, this will not attach to your regular point'n'shoot camera since it doesn't support bottom mounting screw, attachment to a stick is only spring loaded. Under the control of this adjustable nut you can swing clamp 270degrees to adjust the angle of your phone and when you're done - swing it around for a compact storage without anything sticking out. This u-shape clam is secured with a wing nut (easy to handle) which has plastic coating outside and metal thread inside (good quality!). The clamp has a rubber lip at the bottom and rubber-coated spring loaded part at the top - no worries about scratching your phone or phone slipping out. I wasn't able to fit my Note 4, but had no issues with Galaxy S5. Handle/stick extends from a nominal 180mm all the way to 810mm - plenty of room to capture yourself and a chunk of space behind you.Ĭlamp was spring loaded, and I was able to expand it from 60mm to 80mm - use this as a guidance to figure out if it can fit your phone in a case (always keep your phone in a case!!!). You don't want it to be too tight because if you apply too much force you can bend it, or too loose because extension will not be secure enough. Indeed, telescopic extension was very smooth, required a little bit of force to pull it out, but still was easy to operate. This is supposed to be MPow's updated version of the design, and even so I didn't see their original one - I have read this new version has an improved clamp design and smoother telescopic extension. Basically, the design has two parts, a handle with telescopic stick and U-shape clamp. The whole setup and operation is very easy and self-explanatory, don't even need instructions for that. Product arrived in a very basic small packaging box, nothing special here except for a clue how compact it's going to be! Inside, you will find a collapsed self-portrait monopod, usb to micro-usb charging cable, and a manual. So when I was approached by MPow asking me to review their Selfie Stick, I decided to give it a shot. , also available on amazon: Īs you all know, I don't make video reviews and definitely not one of those wacky YT reviewers walking around documenting myself with a smartphone But I have seen a lot of people do that and was always curious what kind of tools they use. This is a Review of MPow iSnap X selfie stick with Bluetooth remote control.
